Wiley CPA Review has been around for over 40 years and are one of the most widely used review courses today. Wiley’s textbooks are fairly inexpensive and are updated twice a year. Many students prefer to use Wiley as a supplement rather than as their sole source of studying because they do not provide any video lectures to help explain the material.
Wiley’s Test Bank software is available for $150 per section or $575 if you buy all four together. This is very affordable compared to most CPA review materials. However, this does not include any video lectures to help explain the material and is not sufficient for most students to pass.
Wiley CPA Exam Review products are available online, in print, CD-ROM, and as mobile apps for your iPod, iPad, Android, and Nook.
Their test bank software includes 4,300 questions and 150 simulations to practice on and comes with online support. It also includes 150 CPA exam simulations. Their practice tests are formatted just like the real CPA exam and will help prepare you for what you can expect on your exam day.
If you misunderstand any of the CPA exam concepts in Wiley there is nobody to guide you back in the right direction. The course material is progressive and builds off the concepts learned in previous sections, so if you start miscalculating things, every section after that will be harder and harder to understand. This can become very discouraging and makes studying feel overbearing and burdensome which will decrease your overall test scores.
Wiley provides quality study materials and I would definitely recommend using them as a supplement to another review course. Due to the fact that this is not your typical “guided review”, I would not suggest using Wiley as your primary study materials unless you are extremely disciplined and a very good self-studier.
